2 POST HOISTS

Logicar offers a diverse selection of 2-post hoists from multiple leading brands, giving workshops flexibility to choose the right lift for their specific needs. Their range includes lighter-capacity 4 tonne models up to heavy-duty 6 tonne units, with both symmetrical and asymmetrical designs to suit cars, SUVs and commercial vehicles. Brands you’ll find include Heshbon, Bradbury, Powerrex, Molnar, Logicar Excell, Challenger, Hofmann, BulletPro Elite, and more — each with different capacity ratings and feature sets to match your workshop requirements. Options also include adjustable height and width settings, versatile three-stage arms for better reach, and premium accessories to enhance productivity and ease of use. This breadth of brands and configurations makes it easier to custom-spec a 2-post hoist that fits your workshop’s workflow and vehicle mix.

Hoist Buying Guide

Understanding 2‑Post Hoist Types & Why It Matters

A 2‑post hoist is one of the most versatile workshop lifts — ideal for general servicing, under‑vehicle access, tyre/wheel removal, engine work, and more. They come in different configurations:

  • Symmetrical vs Asymmetrical:

    • Symmetrical lifts centre the vehicle between posts (good for general service).

    • Asymmetrical lifts position vehicles slightly forward for easier door access and better ergonomics.

  • Clear‑floor vs Base‑plate:

    • Clear‑floor models have no floor frames, giving unrestricted floor access.

    • Base‑plate models add stability where concrete strength is a concern.

  • Power Unit & Controls:

    • Choose between single phase (240 V) for home or small workshops and three phase for commercial garages.

Key Features to Compare

When choosing a hoist, ask yourself these essential questions:

Lifting Capacity

  • What’s the weight of the vehicles you’ll service?

  • Common capacities range from ~4 tonne to 6 tonne on Logicar’s range.

  • Bigger SUVs and dual‑cabs often require 4.5 t+ capacity.

Arm Design & Reach

  • Do the arms extend far enough for long wheel‑base vehicles?

  • Are front and rear arms adjustable or telescopic? (helps with flexibility for different vehicles)

Installation & Space

  • What ceiling height is needed?

  • How much drive‑through space between posts will you require?

  • Is your concrete slab thick and strong enough for anchor bolts?

Safety & Standards

Look for Australian / WHS compliant hoists.

  • Safety locks, automatic restraints, and reliable equalisation systems are must‑haves.

  • Optional safety kits/WH&S documentation help with workshop compliance.
